Youth tailored capacity building for mining and petroleum sectors - Extractives Baraza

Overview

The youth tailored capacity building seeks to build the technical and legal understanding of youth on mining and petroleum sectors and how they are governed. The goal is to ensure that that the youth are better able to plug in to the governance of the extractives sector after undergoing rigorous training.
To achieve this goal, we have worked with the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) in hosting the African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) platform since 2017 as a capacity building tool for students across Africa (Anglophone and Francophone countries). We are also working with the ALSF in setting up and hosting the African Petroleum Atlas (APLA) as a platform that will work towards building capacity for youth on petroleum as well as act as a knowledge management product on petroleum legislations in Africa.
