Youth in Extractives Programmes

The youth capacity building programme seeks to promote capacity of youth in Africa through training, interactive conversations and a platform for supporting youth innovations in the extractives sector. The programme works to enhance youth participation and interest in the extractives sector in Africa. The programme is premised on three key intervention streams as launching pads for youth participation in the sector:

Youth tailored capacity building for mining and petroleum sectors

The tailored capacity building forums are jointly hosted with development partners including the African Legal Support Facility among others.

Extractives Baraza Moot Court Competition

The Competition offers a platform aimed at providing an interdisciplinary learning perspective to the participants, which builds awareness and improves understanding around the implications and impacts of activities in the extractives sector.
