Overview
The 2nd QFC was held on 27th June 2017 to analyze public participation law, practice, and future trends at the national and county levels and offers a predictive look at how public participation may evolve in the coming years. The participants deliberated on sustainable industry led public participation models which emphasized the need for collaboration between industry, communities and for the case of Kenya an integration of both national and county government. Industry participants shared their experiences in different jurisdictions and reflected on the need for Kenya to adopt good practices to avoid succumbing to unsustainable public participation initiatives. Lastly, participants appreciated the need for a synchronization of all laws, policies and regulations on public participation. The outcomes of the forum are detailed in the forum report.
