EB and SEIC have partnered with the International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP) to implement capacity building programmes targeting specific stakeholders in the extractives sector, especially lawyers and civil society organisations (CSOs).
The training is led by experienced experts in the Oil & Gas industry, and provides local CSOs and lawyers with the tools and skills needed to engage effectively with major multinationals and to negotiate on behalf of affected communities.
Upon successful completion of the course, all participants are awarded with a certificate of participation. In addition, CPD points are awarded to lawyers by the Law Society of Kenya.
Oil and Gas Training for Lawyers and CSOs on Fundamental Considerations of Oil & Gas Transaction
27–28 June 2018, Strathmore University Business School
SEIC together with the EB and the ISLP hosted a two-day Oil and Gas Training at Strathmore University, targeting lawyers practicing within the extractives industry, aspiring oil and gas lawyers, arbitrators and CSOs from regions with discoveries of oil and gas.
The two-day interactive training introduced participants to the fundamental considerations, agreements and other documentation that typically underlie Oil and Gas transactions.
The aim of the training was to enhance the participant’s knowledge and understanding of the various dynamics in the oil and gas sector so that they can apply them and better their practice and work.
