The following African Law Schools shall be participating; Riara University, Catholic University of Eastern Africa, University of Nairobi, Moi University, Makerere University, Kampala International University, University of Dar es Salaam, Mount Kenya University and Strathmore University in the elimination rounds of the competition.
Participating law schools select students who form a team to represent their schools. The students submit written memorials on a hypothetical case, which are assessed by a panel of experts. The best in the preliminary rounds proceed to the next stage of the participation.
The moot court finale was hosted at Strathmore University Law School, Microsoft auditorium. This included submissions by the applicants and the respondents before the judges, Professor Jackton Ojwang,supreme court judge, Mariam Mohammed, Africa Legal Support Facility and Dr Adenike Aiyedun, director Access2Justice as the judges. Dr Marisella Ouma, office of the attorney general as the chief guest.
The final battle was between Kenya School of Law and Kampala International University, with the former emerging winner and the latter first runners up.
