Ms. Mavuti is a practicing advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the East African Law Society as well as a member of the Association of Women in Energy and Extractives in Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (P.G. Dip) from the Kenya School of Law, a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Oil & Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and is currently undertaking her Ph.D. in Law at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Ms. Mavuti is the previous Ag. Director of the Strathmore Extractives Industry Centre (SEIC) and also lectures at the Strathmore Law School in Oil and Gas Law. She has had both professional and academic experience in the oil & gas and mining industry, corporate and commercial law, property and environmental law. Her areas of focus are business and human rights, transparency and accountability, revenue management, gender, local content, youth and innovation as well as commercial arbitration and grievance management within the extractives sector.
