James is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in research in diverse areas of law, including business and human rights, sustainable development, extractives (oil, gas and mining), land and environment, indigenous law and conflict resolution. With over five years’ experience as a legal researcher, James has developed excellent skills in research methodologies; project design, planning and implementation; monitoring and evaluation (M&E); stakeholder mapping and engagement; as well as influencing and shaping policy. James is passionate about sustainable exploitation and utilization of natural resources, particularly minerals and mineral oils, and is appreciative of the importance of action research in policy making. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi.
