Geoffrey is a trained sociologist with over seven years’ work experience in civil society organizations, academia and national human rights institutions. He well versed in the areas of business and human rights, economic, social and cultural rights in the oil, gas and mining sector in East Africa, HIV/AIDS in the health sector in Kenya.
As the programme manager EB, Geoffrey is responsible for fundraising, overall program planning, implementation and monitoring. He has been pivotal in promoting EB as a credible, influential and neutral platform that shapes policy and practice through research, capacity building, stakeholder engagement and access to information in Kenya’s and East Africa’s extractives sector. Notably, he has successfully spearhead development of useful instruments e.g. the Judiciary Guide on “Handling Extractives Related Grievances in Kenya”.
Before Joining EB in 2016, Geoffrey worked with the Institute for Human Rights and Business and Kenya National Commission on Human Rights where he implemented work around business and human rights.
