Mineral Law in Africa (MLiA)

Mineral Law in Africa (MLiA)

The Strathmore Extractives Industry Centre (SEIC) has been tasked with coordinating efforts towards achieving the first text on Mineral Law in Africa book project.

This project is a collaborative effort which focuses on collaborative work with scholars from many African countries to promote in-depth research on the laws pertaining to extractives on the continent and to create a series of books to be published by Juta Law Publishers, dedicated to mineral law and governance in Africa.

The aim of each of these publications will be to analyze the relationship between the law, governance and the promotion of socio-economic development in sub-Saharan Africa in as far as it pertains to minerals, to inform policy and legislative choices on mineral resources and to facilitate the preparation, revision and implementation of existing laws.
